Quality, originality and taste

At five came Julius, backed by a crew of two, with cases divided into topics.
Beyond the unconventional challenge, of preparing food for a two meters in height basketball team and a wingspan of 3, I asked for professional food, but not ornate. Different but not trying to impress.
It seems that these qualities also characterize the chef's personality - listening, a desire to dare, and a lot of respect for flavors and people.
The result was a tantalizing evening that passes between Europe, Asia and Tel Aviv (French tartar, beef stew and sourdough bread swelled in 40 hours).
Accuracy, control and smile - led to a very successful evening, in which eventually came into the kitchen "unsuspecting guests" who were trying to figure out what was the beet salad dressing, and how to do it? If possible?
Julius, with patience and love, dictated recipes and promised to send e-mails.

The highlight of my vacation

Julius’ food is simply delicious. The best meal I had on my last visit to Israel! His use of fresh ingredients and seasonal fruits and vegetables with a modern twist, makes his dishes light and enjoyable. His food is exceptionally balanced and thought out with great attention to detail. Julius has a canny ability to improvise and deliver creative dishes with minimal fuss and beautiful presentation. He cooked a delicious dinner for a party of 25 at very last minute notice – and my guests are still talking about it. I wish Julius still lived in London so he could cook for me more often!

Born in Amsterdam, Julius took an early interest in food. From his early childhood years he could be found in the kitchen whenever possible. Throughout his life, his relationship with food has remained one of passion and dedication.

Whether working as a lawyer in the City of London or at the London Philharmonic Orchestra, or in his extensive travels, Julius has never swayed from his love for cooking, soaking in the tapestry of rich traditions and flavours that have inspired his outstanding work.

After moving to Israel in 2011, Julius began intensive studies with Israel’s most iconic chef Erez Komarovsky in Matat, Upper Galilee and in 2013 felt the time was ripe for his own boutique food business. Julius Custom Made Food – cooking hand-made artisan food for smaller and medium-size events – was born.
